MDesign & Alan McAnulty
The term “graphic design” was coined in 1922 by one of the first modern designers, William Addison Dwiggins. He described himself as, “[an] individual who brings structural order and visual form to printed communications.”
Hi, I’m Alan McAnulty, a freelancer with 30 years experience in graphic design, web design, fine art, photography and illustration. I approach all design projects, whether logo design, photo-illustration, web, print media or advertising with the goal to communicate effectively and esthetically. I’m a visual communicator, adept at refining and clarifying your marketing message. Many of my clients are corporate marketing departments who use me as part of their team, filling in gaps that occur; whether it’s a missing in-house skill set, or perhaps their big advertising agency is slow or non-responsive.
I have a wide variety of resources in the business community, with relationships to experts in marketing, advertising, printing, programming and web hosting so if I don’t know how to do what you need, I probably know someone who does. Please look through my samples, let me know what you think. I have another url where I experiment with WordPress templates I’ve created, it’s a website with an embedded blog called zomtiki. The site you’re on was built in WordPress using my own template.
I was honored to have an art film project shown at the Seattle Art Museum on Sept. 25, 2005. The festival was called StockStock and the piece I created with music by Rik Tweed was among the top 25 entries out of a world-wide submission base.
A page I put together documenting my dad’s ww2 experiences can be found here.
